Meet Emily: socal Expert and Destination Pro
Emily K. Beddall (formerly Emily K. Bennett) is a professionally-trained Artist turned Event Designer, Planner and Coordinator. Emily moved to California to pursue her career as a Scenic Artist—painting theatrical scenery, theme parks, and interior murals. Coordinating friend's and family's weddings sparked her interest in Event Planning. She then started working for one of the top independent Wedding Planners in Orange County, CA. Emily also worked as a coordinator for a local venue and gained invaluable knowledge at the biggest event rental company in Southern California.
After enjoying her time working in the industry under other professionals, she broke off and started her own company in January 2015! She has planned and coordinated hundreds of weddings in California, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and more. And has been in the industry professionally for more than 10 years.
After 12 years in SoCal, Emily has moved back to the Midwest for LOVE. The 2020 pandemic brought her the man of her dreams in Kansas City! Emily is excited to bring her vast experience to your special day wherever it may be. She cares about each and every client and bringing their vision to life.

Amanda Smith
Lead Planner
Amanda joined Events by Emily in 2016 after meeting Emily as a maid of honor the year before. Amanda is a Lead Planner and enjoys pulling all the details of a wedding together to bring the couple’s vision to reality. With experience planning and coordinating corporate events and over 50 weddings under her belt, Amanda is familiar with a wide variety of events, cultures, and people and can’t wait to lead each unique wedding. Amanda has been married since 2013 and has two sweet kids. In her free time, Amanda enjoys traveling with her family and has a goal to visit as many National Parks as possible.
Candice thompson
Lead Planner
Candice has been working with Events by Emily since 2016 and is a Lead Planner. She loves coming up with creative solutions on the wedding day and seeing the couple get to really enjoy their day while we take care of the rest. She is also the owner of Candice Amanda Designs, a stationery and signage company, which has been operating since 2016. Growing up performing and working technical roles in musical theatre (including performing in Cats), she gained a variety of skills and a steadfast work ethic. A lifelong dancer, she loves choreographing and leading classes. Candice lives in Los Angeles with her wonderful, supportive boyfriend who watches their amazing dog while she makes sure couples have an amazing wedding day.
Kumary Vasquez
Wedding coordinator
Kumary is a fun, detail-oriented, and problem-solving Wedding Coordinator with Events by Emily since 2017. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and still enjoys traveling around Southern California discovering the ever-changing and diverse cities that make up SoCal with her family. In high school, she was awarded the "Golden Retriever Award" from her Tennis Team due to her eagerness to always help her teammates. Kumary has worn several hats in her lifetime such as two-time State Youth Leader, Girl Scouts Troop Leader, and Corporate Holiday Planner and Coordinator for LinQuest Corporation. She enjoys spending time with her cat Luna, traveling to new and exciting destinations, and helping couples make their wedding day perfect. Kumary speaks Spanish and English.
Andrea Herrera
Wedding coordinator
Andrea lives in Long Beach, California and has been married since late 2019 (right before the pandemic) and has a daughter named Caroline. She has been a Wedding Coordinator with Events by Emily since 2018. Her past work experience includes three years working Events at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and three years at Bright Event Rentals as an event consultant. I am the owner of Sweet Like Andy, a dessert small business. I specialize in cakes, dessert tables & holiday bakes. Weddings, event coordination and baking are my passions in life. Andrea speaks Spanish and English.
Jannira Lujan
Wedding coordinator
Jannira is the youngest of three daughters and mother to one adorable black feline. Jannira is one of the Wedding Coordinators and has been working with Events by Emily since 2019. She has worked in the Event Industry for six years at Bright Event Rentals and enjoys helping clients from the beginning up until the fruition of their Event Vision. A fun fact about Jannira is she once had the chance to speak on the phone with Heidi Klum’s now husband, Tom Kaulitz. Jannira speaks Spanish and English.
